San Diego ↔ Palm Springs

San Diego to Palm Springs Car Service

Palm Springs is an easy drive to plan and a tiring one to do twice in a weekend. Avant Limo runs private, door-to-door car service between San Diego County and the Coachella Valley in both directions, for golf trips, resort stays, Palm Springs International (PSP) flights, and the two festival weekends that fill the desert each spring. You get one all-inclusive quote, a vetted chauffeur, and the option to sleep through the Banning Pass.

How far is Palm Springs from San Diego?

Palm Springs is roughly 125 miles from downtown San Diego, usually about 2 to 2½ hours on a clear road. Most trips run north on the I-15 through Escondido and Temecula, then east to the I-10 through the Banning Pass and down into the valley. Going deeper into the desert adds time: Palm Desert, Indian Wells, and La Quinta sit beyond Palm Springs, and Indio is roughly 150 miles from downtown.

Approximate, from downtown San Diego. Carlsbad or Oceanside to Palm Springs is about 95 to 100 miles and about 2 hours. Friday afternoons northbound and Sunday afternoons heading home are the slowest stretches.

Coachella transportation from San Diego

Coachella takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, and getting there and back is the part of the weekend most groups underestimate. A private car means nobody in your group has to drive home after the last set, and nobody has to manage festival parking. We plan the weekend with you when you book, whether that means a round trip from San Diego on a single day, or a drop-off at your rental or hotel in the valley with a return at the end of the weekend.

Rideshare and drop-off zones, road closures, and the schedule are set by the festival and can change from year to year, so check the official Coachella site for dates and arrival rules before you travel. Book early, because the festivals draw heavy demand across the whole valley.

Stagecoach transportation from San Diego

Stagecoach uses the same Empire Polo Club grounds in Indio, usually the weekend after Coachella, and the logistics are similar. Groups often want to stay together, and a Black SUV or the Executive Van keeps everyone, along with their bags, in one vehicle for the drive up and the drive home. Check the official Stagecoach site for this year's dates and arrival rules.

  • Tell us your dates, your group size, and where you are staying in the valley.
  • Decide on a round trip each day or a drop-off and return at the end of the weekend.
  • Late nights are normal on these weekends, so we agree a pickup plan with you ahead of time.

Palm Springs airport, resorts, and golf

Outside festival season, most of this route is resort stays and PSP. We drive between San Diego County addresses and Palm Springs International in both directions, and flights are tracked so a late landing moves your pickup with it. For golf groups heading to La Quinta, Indian Wells, or Rancho Mirage, the Black SUV has room for the clubs and bags. Families get car seats on request.

If you are flying out of LAX or San Diego after a desert stay, we can also plan a direct trip from the valley to the airport rather than sending you back through San Diego first. Ask when you book.

What a Palm Springs trip costs

We do not publish a fixed fare for this route, because the right quote depends on your pickup, your destination in the valley, the vehicle, and whether your chauffeur returns the same day or comes back for you later. Every quote is all-inclusive, so fuel, tolls, parking, and fees are in the number you see, with no surge pricing. Gratuity is at your discretion. The Executive Van and Sprinters book for a four-hour minimum; sedans and SUVs are quoted per trip. Get a quote or call (619) 398-5432.
